In Part I of A Rose for Emily, Emily’s house stands out from the community and reflects both her past and the changes happening around her. Think about a house, building, or place that holds special memories for you. What does that place look like, what memories do you connect with it, and what does it represent to you?

Not the most unique answer, but my own home is one that holds the most special memories. It’s a very home-y environment with lots of things and items around, but still clean. Since 1st grade, it’s had my dog(s), my bedroom, and garage which all have their own comfort to them.  That’s what my house means to me, the ultimate comfort and safe place, especially being inside during a year and a half of Covid.

Today we started reading a short story, a Rose for Emily.

This story is kind of confusing so far but it will start to make sense i’m sure as we go through and answer the comprehension questions. I believe the story is a reference to something else since it’s very dark.
