In “A Worn Path,” Phoenix has a memorable encounter and conversation with the hunter during her journey. Think about a conversation you have had that had a lasting impact on you. What was the conversation about, and how did it change your thinking, perspective, or actions?

I met astronaut Chris Hadfield when I was about 7, at Kennedy Space center. I don’t remember too much, but he signed a book for me and one for my parents. They told me later what he said, and it was along the lines of finding something that you’re truly passionate about and sticking with it. In my case, I still don’t know what career I will pick for sure, but I’ve taken some of his words with me by putting all my effort into the things I enjoy and not quitting. Projects, sports, etc.

Today in class we started a new story called a worn path.

This story is different because it contains a bit more modern themes. This in comparison to what we’ve been reading, rural, gothic, and more traditional.
